9 Days Culture & Hiking Tour Elgon/Rwenzori
Day 1 Arrival at the Airport
On arrival, you will be welcomed by our guide at the
airport. He will take you to the hotel to rest and have dinner. Breakfast will
be provided in the morning.
Day 2 Drive to Jinja
At 8.00 am you will be picked by the guide to Jinja,
this is a 2 hours journey. You will have a stop in Mabira forest for a short
break. This forest is the biggest in East Africa. Do a community walk and then
proceed to Jinja. Check into your accommodation lodge have lunch and then head off to carry out activities like rafting, city walk in Jinja, market walk, and
culture exploration.
Day 9 Departure
Our guide will come to pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Airport in time for your flight.

The package excludes: The expenses of personal nature like Airfare, Uganda Visa, Luxury drinks, laundry, tips to local guides, telephone, and porter fee while trekking, personal insurance, personal shopping bills, and cigarettes, and any other item not mentioned above.
Day 3 & 4 Cultural experience on the slopes of Mountain Elgon
At 8.00 am, the guide will take you to Mbale the home of Mountain Elgon. On arrival, you will be taken to explore the magnificent Sipi falls, in the same area you will be taken to meet the sipi women’s group. Learn about their culture, how to make African cuisines, how they keep their keep plantations, and others activities. This is why it takes two whole days.
Day 5 Hiking to Piswa Camp
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kapkwata about 2.19 km from your current location. This is where the hike to mountain Elgon will start from you will use a scenic route to piswa camp about 2.85 km. during the distance, you will pass through a bamboo forest, heath, and moorland as your ascending to the camp.
Day 6 Hunter’s cave Mountain Elgon
Hike up to the caldera rim, you will pass through beautiful vegetation and find rare flowers and tree species. You will also come across a hot spring and then the Suam gorge with a beautiful view of the Mountain. To reach camp you hike for 3.85 km from piswa camp.
Day 7 Overnight at the Mude cave camp
After Hunter’s cave, you continue ascending to Mude cave camp. You will pass via the Wagagai peak and the caldera (the largest in the world) and then descend through the Jackson summit and Jackson pool 3.5km to Mude cave camp.
Day 8 Descend through the Sasa Trail
At 7.00 am you will have breakfast, and start descending the mountain passing through the Sasa trail as you are still experiencing the amazing views the mountain has to offer. You will reach Budadiri where you will start your journey back to Kampala, you will have lunch in the town of Mbale before the journey to Kampala where you will spend a night before going back home
